You shouldn't need to modify the BAI2 file if it complies with the BAI2 standard. The line type and position mapping is handled by the BAI2 Electronic Reporting (ER) format in D365FO.
If your bank uses custom transaction codes or a non-standard layout, you may need to review or extend the ER mapping.

D365 Finance expects a standard BAI2 format and maps the data using Electronic Reporting (ER) or the legacy Advanced Bank Reconciliation transformation. If your bank provides a non-standard BAI2 layout, the recommended approach is to adjust the ER format mapping, not manually edit the file.
