The error screen captured in image is the generic Microsoft Power Pages / Dynamics Portal error page. It indicates that while the portal itself is online, a server-side exception or database failure occurred behind the scenes when trying to load or execute the unsubscription logic.

    • Validation Failures: The underlying Dataverse table has a mandatory (Business Required) field that is missing or unpopulated on the unsubscribe form canvas layout.
    • Domain Authentication: External websites hosting embedded unsubscribe forms lack proper domain authentication inside the Dynamics Marketing Settings.
    • Deactivated Records: The specific Subscription List records or fields tied to the form have been deactivated or deleted in the environment.
    • Link Corruption: Corporate email security scanners (such as Microsoft Defender Safe Links) can alter or truncate the unique encrypted contact identifier GUID appended to the tracking URL.

This usually happens when something isn’t set up quite right with the unsubscribe page. For e.g, the page might be missing, not published, deleted, or the link in the email could be wrong or outdated. It can also occur if the site hosting the page isn’t accessible, or if the contact doesn’t have the required consent or subscription details.
    What you can check:
Make sure the subscription (or preference) page is live and published
Confirm the correct page is linked in your email settings
Check that the unsubscribe link is using the standard dynamic token
Ensure the website/portal is accessible and permissions are correct

this error usually means the unsubscribe page link or setup is broken somewhere, not a random issue.

    Hi,

Thank you both for your responses.

The unsubscribe link has only recently been displaying this error. For a number of years it has been working fine.

Would this direct the issue more to the Link Corruption theory??

I'm going to look at recreating the preference / unsubscribe link.

Is there any document, video that will give me some guidance??

    Regards

    Chris

link expiration or an old/static unsubscribe URL is very likelly case so recreating/reinserting the preference/unsubscribe link is a good next step but I’d specifically make sure it is not a copied old URL. Use the current compliance profile/preference center token and send a fresh test email.  below are some links

    Hi

I'm trying to locate the current preference email so i can either use it or replicate it.

I've accessed the Compliance Profile and selected the 'default' link

But get this and not the actual email

Would the previous error message actual relate to the email has been potentially deleted?

Or I'm I looking in the wrong place??

In my dev version I have started to create a new Compliance Profile using Preference Centre instead of page...

I don’t think the previous error necessarily means the email has been deleted. The unsubscribe link does not usually point to a separate “preference email”; it points to the Preference page or Preference center configured on the Compliance profile.  preference centers are configured from Settings > Customer engagement > Compliance profiles, and each compliance profile has a default preference center/preference experience linked from there.
So yes, you may be slightly looking in the wrong place if you are expecting to find an email from that default link. That link is taking you to the consent/preference setup, not to the email that was sent.
If you want to find the actual email that contains the unsubscribe link, go to:
Customer Insights - Journeys > Channels > Emails

I would suggest don’t look for a separate “preference email.”
Check the sent email under Channels > Emails.
Check the consent setup under Settings > Customer engagement > Compliance profiles
Move from Preference page to Preference center.
Reinsert the unsubscribe/preference link into the email using the standard Dynamics link/token.
Send a brand-new test email and test from that new email, not from an old received email.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your answer.

I think I have done all of those suggestions.

When I open an actual email and click on the unsubscribe link it displays they error message

When i select the Default preference page 'default' link the side bar pop out appears and when i select 'Preview the page it displays the 'Example' page

can you try with new email , if its working ? more likely your existing email is old and unsubscribe linke has expired as those expire six month after the link is created.  If Preview the page opens correctly, then the preference page itself is likely still present. The “Example” page is normal in preview because Dynamics is showing sample data, not the real recipient context.
Open the email in Channels > Emails.
    Remove the current unsubscribe link.
Reinsert it using the standard Dynamics unsubscribe/preference link option.
Send a brand-new test email to a contact.
Click the unsubscribe link from that newly received email.
If the new email works, the issue was likely the old generated link. If the new email still fails, I’d suggest to move ahead with the new Compliance Profile + Preference Center setup and test against that, since Preference Center is the current recommended approach.
